HIJAB
H.J.B
Modest way of behaviour and dress (including head scarf for women)
This was also the practice of Arabian (Nestorian) Christians. Some
Muslim countries insist on the women being covered up totally, except
for the eyes, while others insisted on the head scarf. Some Muslim
countries have made the hijab compulsory, while others do not.
Afghanistan High Court, for example, said that "A denier of veil is
an infidel and an unveiled woman is lewd."
* In the newsgroup soc.religion.islam, one often comes across
posts that defends the belief that the hijab is necessary for
the salvation of women.
